1/7/2024 0 Comments Mount hard disks in mini vmacThe only application I’ve found so far that can mount disk images under System 6. Bates for creating and mounting image files from floppy disks. I'm guessing Drive Setup's is far too new. MiniVMac transfer utilities, only for use under Mini VMac, used to transfer files between the host system and the emulator 3.3 Store & Mount. I'm guessing this is a driver issue, is there an image of an older driver partition which is compatible? I also tried Drive Setup 1.5's but had the same issue. You will see two floppies on your desktop, and now you could for example copy the system folder to the 1988.dsk. Install Mini vMac on your computer, and drag the system.dsk onto the emulator (so it will boot), and then drag the 1988.dsk image on it. I've also verified that the image I've created boots in Basilisk II. But it doesn't, and that is why it fails. The Plus does work and I can fully boot into the system using a Floppy Emu with the straight-from-vMac image.įor the SCSI2SD configuration, I've enabled responding to short selection pulses, set SCSI selection delay to 0, and set enable unit attention to off. This makes it the ideal thing to use to read our images. Does Drive Setup 1.7.3's also not work? What's the recommended driver. The screen on it is small, and black and white only but the benefit is that Mini vMac supports attaching of disks of virtually any kind 400k, 800k, 1440k or even Syquest images. Summary : The Mini vMac emulator collection allows modern computers to run software made for early Macintosh computers, the computers that Apple sold from 1984 to 1996 based upon Motorola's 680x0 microprocessors. I used DriveSetup1.7.3_DriverPartition.img instead of lido.img as I've heard the lido drivers don't play well with the Plus. For a quick start, Download a standard variation, to emulate a Macintosh Plus on OS X, Windows, Linux, and many others. If in full screen, you need to exit using Ctrl-F. Since we are going to copy files on the hard drive, we dont need to mount extra disks every time. Dont bother with the hfv500Msys755clean.dsk. However, the ROM will still be patched to add Mini vMacs 'disk image driver' unless '-drives 0' is set (disabling Mini vMacs original style of disk images), although now the SCSI hard disk and floppy disk drivers will no longer be removed. I've already followed codesrc's HFS from scratch guide ( ) and have used that to prepare the image, but the Plus just goes into a reboot loop or shows corruption on the screen. Mini vMac mounts disks automatically if they are named correctly. I'm trying to get a disk image created in vMac up on a Plus through the SCSI2SD.
